First American Art Magazine
First American Art Magazine (FAAM) is a quarterly publication dedicated to Indigenous art and Indigenous perspectives across the Americas, founded in 2013 by artist, writer, and curator America Meredith (Cherokee Nation). It exists to correct the long‑standing gap in mainstream art writing, where Native artists are often covered superficially
or inaccurately.
I contributed two feature spreads to First American Art Magazine, designing layouts that support the publication’s mission of elevating Indigenous artists and storytellers. My work focused on clear hierarchy, strong image pacing, and culturally attentive visual decisions that fit FAAM’s established
editorial style.
